The government has further extended the closure of all educational institutions until 30 January, amid the coronavirus fallout.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) issued a media release in this regard today (15 January), stating that the Qaumi Madrasas will be out of the purview of the holiday.
In the face of the covid-19 outbreak in the country, the government had shut all the educational institutions across the country on 17 March 2020, in an effort to contain mass infection of coronavirus. As the country is yet to witness any significant improvement in the coronavirus situation, the closure was extended in phases. Since then, no classes of examinations have taken place, except those of online platforms.
Students are facing uncertainty as the institutions have been closed for months due to the pandemic. The situation is yet to come under control.
Though the educational institutions remain shut, the students from well-to-do families have been attending classes online. But students from poor families cannot avail these facilities. Though the government has been airing classes on television.
Experts said the country has not experienced any such situation except during the Liberation War in 1971. ♦
