The University of Dhaka (DU) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have ranked between world’s best 801 and 1000 universities on QS World University Rankings.
The United Kingdom-based organisation published this year’s QS World University Rankings 2021 on yesterday.
Bangladesh’s two universities secured their positions on the last 200 hundred universities for the last three consecutive years. DU stood 135th among Asian universities and BUET 207.
By subject ranking, both DU and BUET were placed between 351 and 400 respectively. In terms of graduate employability, DU was ranked between 301 and 500.
Earlier on 8 June 2020, UAE-based Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) published its world university rankings. The University of Dhaka, the only university from Bangladesh, was ranked 1794th among world’s best 2,000 universities.
In 2018, DU became the first university to secure in the most reputed QS rankings. It was then placed between 701 and 750 universities.
QS World University Rankings is the world’s most reliable one. It assesses a university on the basis of six parameters – academic reputation, employment reputation, faculty student ratio, citation per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio. A university is measured on 100 marks. ♦
