Shakil Uddin Ahmed, a professor at the Department of Soil, Water and Environment of Dhaka University (DU) died of coronavirus yesterday evening, UNB has reported.
He breathed his last around 8:00pm at capital’s Green Life hospital where he was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19, confirmed DU proctor AKM Golam Rabbani.
“We heard his condition was improving. Shakil’s death shocked us deeply,” said Rabbani.
Professor Shakil joined the university in 2002. ♦
