Health Desk: The Government of Bangladesh, along with private and public organizations, has been working to tackle the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak. Today, Grameenphone, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services, has started the 1st phase of PPE distribution, comprising 6000 pcs or units of protective coverall, latex gloves, and goggles each to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Govt. Hospital.
Grameenphone has started to distribute medical-grade professional PPE (protective coverall, KN 95 mask, latex gloves, goggles) to the frontline medical workers in the selected hospitals. With the number of COVID-19 cases on the rise, this tranche of PPE will enable the health professional to provide medical support without getting infected to cope and mitigate the outbreak.

Azad said, “We are facing an unprecedented challenge with the impact of this pandemic and ensuring access to good quality/medical grade PPE, and other safety gears are our top priority. Both private and public sectors are tirelessly working with the Government of Bangladesh to ensure the access of all the necessary medical equipment to tackle the pandemic. We appreciate the initiative that Grameenphone has taken, and we encourage other entities to come forward as well.”
