Dhaka Premier League (DPL) club Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity began online practice session in a bid to keep their cricketers fit.

Khelghar coach Nafees Iqbal, also the former Bangladesh opener, came up with his innovative idea as he believes this could give the players a chance to keep them fit as well as strengthen the bond of the players in the time when Covid-19 created mayhem.

All of the players of the Khelghar club attended in the practice session. The club’s all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraj however posted a video of the online practice session in Facebook.

“In this DPL, I am playing for Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity. I am very delighted to inform you that we started online training session under the supervision of former national opener Nafees Iqbal,” Miraj wrote.

He also said that the online practice session will be continued until they come back on the ground.

“It’s a great initiative, which gives us the opportunity to train together, no matter how it is done. I want to thank Nafees Iqbal for this innovative idea. The practice session on online will be continued,” he added.

The likes of Jahurul Islam Omee, Khaled Ahmed, Imtiaz Hossain Tanna, Farhad Hossain are also playing for Khelaghar apart from Miraj. The club made a losing start to the DPL before it was postponed for indefinitely due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
