China will allow resuming limited foreign flights to the country. It will now resume international flights to dozens of cities across the country.
The Chinese state-run media Global Times reported this information. It also said it was lifting restrictions on US aircraft entry as much as possible.
International airlines that are currently unable to operate in the country will be able to operate one flight a week to any city in China of their choice from June 8. However, it will continue to comply with the restrictions.
There will be other issues besides corona infection prevention restrictions. Any airline operated a flight with five passengers testing positive would be suspended from operating flights for a week. Airlines with 10 passengers testing positive on a single flight would be suspended for 1 month.
After the outbreak of the coronavirus in Wuhan in December last year, US President Donald Trump imposed a ban on aviation with China. After that, China also imposed a temporary ban on US aviation. Since then, flights between the two countries have been suspended.
Meanwhile, the United States on Wednesday launch a reciprocal ban on all Chinese carriers at their airports. Washington said the decision was made because of China’s sanctions on US airlines. ♦
